this contest is going to be really interesting ,
i have some doubts :confused: :

*i live in Mexico , the contest is open to any country ?
*what is going to be judged ? usability, navigation, visual fx's ?
*can i use flickr ?
*the code should be GPL or whatever i want ?

Yes, I am sure we can find a way to pay people in Mexico too in case you win.

We will look at all (usability, navigation, sfx) and at simplicity too :) So we are not looking for something in particular but overall it has to be a good gallery.
*can i use flickr ?
In what way? Flickr provides feeds that you can use to build a photo gallery with Flickr images? You can post that if you like.
*the code should be GPL or whatever i want ?
You can post any licence you want but the file will have to remain available for download in the flash galleries after contest is over. Best is to allow them to use it at least on non commercial sites.

yes, i mean using flickr feeds (http://flickr.com/services/feeds/)
to load images to my image gallerie , i saw a lot of galleries using this so i want to give it a try :D

Does the gallery have to be made in flash? Can it be made in flex?

I dont know much about flex but it would not be ok, it sould be a fla source for macromedia flash. Sorry.

If a gallery is uploaded and users find bugs...can one upload it again?

yes, sure, you can eider upload a new version or send the updated files by email and your previous listing will be updated. You will need to send a message by the contact form in order to be able to reply and attach files.

Adrian, if i have a BIG Flash Gallery, i can put a link to the gallery located in my website?
Because the size of the flash is about 800x600... there is no problem?
And how is the best way to do that?

Hello, if your file width is larger than 550px then under the preview there will be a link that says "open full size (800x600px)" so users will* be able to see the full size.
So don't worry about the size, go to http://ffiles.com/submit.htmladd the swf, fla in the fields and for the photos, XML or other files create a zip and uplad it in the "ZIP" box. Note that files from zip will be placed exactly next to your swf file, so if you have folders in the zip the folders will also appear on site.
I will make adjustments to the files locations if needed.

I'm having problems uploading my gallery. Please help!! I uploaded one and it gave me an error. Then i uploaded it again and 2 came. When i refreshed they both got lost :S please help me!

Unfortunately i'm having problems with the xml photo galler (not the scroller one)....can you remove it please? I think it would be fair to remove it before the winners are called! Thanks

When you entered the contest you agreed that the gallery will remain under "photo galleries" when contest is over.

That's why i told you to remove it now before 1) contest ends 2) before results are given...so that you don't think i participated and then if i dont win i removed it...i'm telling you to remove it before the results are given....fair enough!!

Raisa, it doesn't mater if results are given or not, when you submit it you agree that it will remain there available for other users as free download.

For ffiles the benefits of the contest is that the users will have more quality files to download when users submit files for contest so now that you know that other galleries might win and not this one is not OK to take it back. The contest page says that galleries will remain available for free download.

If i think that there are better ones...i would take the other one out aswell....
